Jira is project management tool that manages tasks tracking, bug tracking and Agile project management. Jira is currently used by over 11,500 organisations in 107 countries including BMW, Boeing, Adobe, Yahoo, and many others.
Jira will assist the team to keep track of the project efficiently and effectively. Each team member can focus on their tasks and keep an overview of the team's progress. As part of the Agile process there are "Burndown Charts" that show progress during the version.
Jira is integrated with our code versioning system. Each change to the code is synchronized with a code repository and tracked to an 'issue' in Jira. This gives us the ability to revert to previous versions of code if bugs are introduced and every change is tracked to a task/bug and a user.

Confluence is the "Enterprise Wiki" that integrates with Jira. This Wiki will hold any relevant documentation for the project in a centralised searchable repository. All pages in the Wiki can be commented on, edited, hold MS Office Documents, images and PDFs. The Wiki also acts as a basic version control for documents (for code version control we use a system designed specifically for software development).
