What's a "Call To Action"?

A 'Call to Action' is a way to get a visitor, on your website, to interact with the site and convert them into a lead - ultimately to begin a sales process or relationship.

As websites have become normal for businesses we start to see businesses using websites as marketing and business development tools. At Webalite we've just invested a huge amount of time into our website so we can get more business - it's that simple. If you are in business then the chances are you want to stay in business and you need your website to genreate income, not just look pretty.

The 'Call to Action' is an important tool for measuring response rates. The good ole' boys, back in the day, invented "Test and Measure". When they were selling toothpaste, in print advertising, their 'Call to Action' was usually a special offer, with a coupon. With the internet we can be much more specific with our marketing, once we know how to attract our market, and we can measure exaclty how many people view your page, and how many of those people take action.

Your 'Call to Action' can take many forms, a free sample, an introductory seminar, or as we have done, free e-books. The purpose of your 'Call to Action' is to gain leads, so it's fair to swap some useful information with your lead in order to gain their email address. Once you have their email address you can start your sales process rolling and convert them into a customer.
